Disorders of the Mind and Disease

Given our mission in the field of mental health for patients suffering from cancer, as well as more recent interests in the area of Immunopsychiatry, clinical research is being developed in this area by Catarina Adão, Silvia Almeida, Raquel Lemos, Ana Maia, José Oliveira, Berta Sousa, Luzia Travado and Albino Oliveira-Maia. We are particularly interested in understanding the determinants of distress, resilience and neurocognitive dysfunction in patients with cancer, and are working towards that objective with the Breast and Lung Units, as well as international collaborators in a project funded by the European Commission.
