WHY?

The hypothesis behind this question is that there is “division of labour” among the different subsets of cDCs. To test this hypothesis the lab is working to generate novel mouse models that will allow us to genetically target one subset of cDCs by using intersectional genetics. We will then challenge these mice with pathogens that are fought by different types of adaptive immunity (i. e. virus and parasites) to formally establish whether different subsets of cDCs are required in different immune settings.
