The symposium, themed Neuro-Cybernetics at Scale, draws inspiration from the recent advances in AI and machine learning, where scaling has unlocked unprecedented performance. We believe neuroscience may be approaching a similar inflection point. By convening researchers in experimental neuroscience, robotics, machine learning, control theory, and theoretical neuroscience, we aim to explore how ideas of scaling and feedback can shape the future of systems neuroscience.

The "Spatial Omics and AI: Bridging Discovery and Translational Medicine" symposium, is a free event which will explore the impact of Spatial Proteomics and AI in Translational Research and Life Sciences.

CRSy24 - The ‘Ecology’ of Cancer: Understanding and Targeting Cancer-Host Interactions

#CRSy24 #TheEcologyOfCancer aims to bring together a diverse range of researchers to explore fundamental aspects of cancer initiation and progression within the organism's broader context. A main focus of this symposium will be the multidimensional interplay of tumour cells with different components of the local microenvironment, including diverse subsets of immune cells, the vasculature, neurons and stromal cells.

Temos o prazer de anunciar que as inscrições para o Simpósio CPNM “Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer. What do we know?”, organizado pela Fundação Champalimaud e que irá ter lugar no dia 7 de junho, já se encontram abertas!

Este evento irá aproximar o conhecimento clínico e avanços em investigação, reunindo especialistas e profissionais de saúde para discutir as mais recentes descobertas e desenvolvimentos clínicos no diagnóstico e tratamento do Cancro de Pele Não-Melanoma.

The symposium will be organised as a single-track scientific meeting and count with keynote & invited speakers, talks selected from abstracts and a poster session together with other networking and social activities. It will be held on the 11^th and 12^th of March, 2024 at the Main Auditorium of the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal.

O Melanoma Malígno é uma forma altamente agressiva de cancro da pele cuja incidência tem vindo a aumentar nos últimos anos. No entanto, pesquisas recentes e inovadoras introduziram novas terapias e imunoterapias direcionadas para o tratamento do Melanoma, transformando a abordagem ao mesmo e oferecendo esperança aos doentes que tinham, até aqui, alternativas limitadas.

No entanto, mais investigação é necessária, uma vez que o melanoma, atualmente sem tratamento universal, ainda representa um enorme desafio.

Como é bem conhecido por todos, o Cancro do Pulmão é a principal causa de morte por neoplasia no mundo, apresentando elevada morbilidade, mortalidade e custos. Em Portugal, o cenário não é diferente. De acordo com a Organização Mundial de Saúde (Globocan), em 2020, foram diagnosticados 5415 novos casos de Cancro do Pulmão no nosso país. É o 4º tumor mais frequentemente diagnosticado em ambos os sexos (o 2º se forem excluídas as neoplasias da mama e da próstata), mas com maior relevância no sexo masculino.
