Registrations are now open for the Champalimaud Colorectal Cancer Conference, hosted by the Champalimaud Foundation and taking place on the 13th and 14th of February 2023.
The surgical treatment of colorectal cancer continues to advance through development of new surgical techniques and rethinking of previous approaches.
The emergence of minimally invasive surgery means that patient quality of life is given further consideration, even in more extensive surgeries; lateral compartment resections in rectal cancer, as well as D3 lymphadenectomy in colon cancer, are also starting to become used more frequently.
At the same time, the benefits of Watch-and-Wait for patients with lower-rectal cancer have been established, with the importance of a rigorous programme and patient selection also becoming increasingly apparent. So which patients will benefit from these approaches? Since patients are treated with the best oncological and functional outcomes in mind, this is now the balance that surgery must achieve.
On 13 and 14 February 2023, the Champalimaud Foundation will host the Champalimaud Colorectal Cancer Conference, with intense discussions, a pre-congress course (Feb 12th), live robotic surgery and a panel of international experts challenged to answer current questions. Registration is free but limited to the number of seats available in the Champalimaud Foundation auditorium.
Join us for 2 days of intense and fruitful discussions. Next February.
