Malignant melanoma is a highly aggressive form of skin cancer that is on the rise. However, recent breakthrough research has introduced new targeted therapies and immunotherapies for melanoma treatment, transforming the approach to treating melanoma and offering hope to patients with limited alternatives.
Nonetheless, more research needs to be done since melanoma still poses a considerable challenge with no universal treatment.
In addition to new treatments, we are also making progress in the early detection of melanoma. New imaging technologies and biomarkers are helping us to identify melanoma at its earliest stages, when it is most treatable.
During the "Challenging Malignant Melanoma" Symposium on 6th November at Champalimaud Foundation, we will be able to collaborate and share our knowledge and expertise, promoting innovative strategies in the battle against melanoma.
