12th Champalimaud Foundation Trophy Regatta Marks Double Celebration

12th Fundação Champalimaud Trophy Regatta Marks Double Celebration

The Tejo riverfront by the Champalimaud Foundation's open-air amphitheatre served as the backdrop for this event that saw sailors and enthusiasts gather to celebrate both history and competition.

The regatta, a highlight of the Champalimaud Foundation's initiatives, set sail at 11:00 am, casting off into the waters of the Tejo River. Sailing enthusiasts, spectators, and participants alike were treated to a sunny day on the river, as the competition lasted until approximately 3:30 pm. The prize-giving ceremony was held later in the day, recognising the skill and dedication of the participating crews.

This year, 15 Champalimaud Foundation's staff members had the opportunity to participate and sail on the cruise ships competing in the regatta.

The 12th Fundação Champalimaud Trophy regatta was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Champalimaud Foundation and the Lisbon Naval Association (ANL). Their dedication to organising and promoting this annual event has made it a cherished tradition that brings together sailors and the CF community in celebration of the CCU's anniversary and the Implantação da República Portuguesa Day.
