Ana Luísa Correia awarded 2022 Pfizer Research Prize

Ana Luísa Correia, principal investigator of the Cancer Dormancy and Immunity Research Group at the Champalimaud Foundation (CF) in Lisbon, Portugal, has been awarded the 2022 Pfizer Research Prize in the category of Oncology.

Ana Luísa Correia joined the CF in December 2021. Prior to that, she worked for several years at the Basel University Hospital in Switzerland. During her stay there, she made breakthrough discoveries with potentially important therapeutic implications. She intends to pursue this line of work at the CF.

The Pfizer Research Prize has been awarded annually since 1992 to young scientists who have made outstanding and pioneering contributions to basic or clinical research at Swiss research institutes or hospitals. This year's Pfizer Research Prize Award ceremony was held via livestream on February 10, 2022.   

The award, that recognises the researcher's contributions in the field of cancer dormancy will support the lab research work in metastasization.
