Zoom-In on Champalimaud: João Lourenço
I graduated in Medicine in 2001, a Radiology specialist since 2006, and I have been working in the Imaging Department of the Champalimaud Clinical Centre for about five years. I perform diagnostic exams such as ultrasound, CT and MRI, image-guided biopsies and drainage procedures, as well as advise colleagues from other specialties. I am also involved, as a Radiologist, in several ongoing research projects and clinical trials.
Q. What is your personal motto?
"Be happy and grateful and don't upset others."
Q. Is there anything most people don't know about you?
I am a morning person. Early in the morning I jump out of bed with a smile on my face and usually full of energy; dawn brings a whole world of new possibilities; at night I start falling asleep on the sofa very early!
Q. What is the best gift you have ever received?
The best gift was given to me by my wife: a surprise trip with my friends to go surfing. My friends also really enjoyed the gift.
Q. Is there anything you would like to learn?
I would love to learn how to fly a plane and how to sail.
