Histopathology
Histology is the study of the microscopic anatomy of tissues and cells. We achieve this by sectioning samples in very thin sections and staining them, using specific reagents, allowing us to highlight and identify different structures, cells and microorganisms using a microscope.
In the Histology Platform, researchers will work with highly trained staff that will share their know-how, provide support and services in experimental design and procedures, according to the researchers' final objective and the available resources.
Researchers can complement their histological data with other techniques in order to confirm their theories, rise new questions or make new discoveries. In the medical field, histology is also used as a complementary mean of diagnosis.
