Brain and Mind in Clinical Neuropsychiatry
Bernardo Barahona-Corrêa, Gonçalo Cotovio, Jaime Grácio, Sara Malta-Vacas, Daniel Silva and Albino Oliveira-Maia develop projects to explore the mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders secondary to focal brain lesions, as well as the use of non-invasive focal brain stimulation to treat primary neuropsychiatric disorders. Furthermore, we are interested in exploring the use in-vivo measurements of neuronal excitability as a potential biomarker in the context of Major Depressive Disorder. These projects are developed collaboratively with the Systems Neuroscience Laboratory as well as international collaborators, in Boston (BIDMC and Harvard Medical School) and S. Paulo (Universidade de São Paulo).
