7th International Kidney and Monoclonal Gammopathies Meeting held at Champalimaud Foundation

The meeting brought together over 200 specialists from 25 countries, representing a truly international effort to advance research and clinical practice in the field of kidney diseases associated with monoclonal gammopathies.

The scientific programme featured a rich series of sessions addressing key areas in the field, including new pathophysiological insights into monoclonal gammopathies and kidney disease, innovations in diagnostic tools and biomarkers, emerging therapeutic strategies, and the latest updates from ongoing clinical trials.

Tribute to our colleague and friend, Henrique Nabais

With deep sorrow at the passing of Dr. Henrique Nabais, we pay tribute to our colleague and our friend. His unwavering dedication, leadership and professionalism earned him the highest regard and respect from all who knew him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Henrique Nabais led the Gynaecology Unit of the Champalimaud Clinical Centre since 2013. In these years, he left a profound and lasting mark on his colleagues, on the many patients he cared for, and on their families, whose trust he honoured with compassion and excellence.

Artificial intelligence can help in the non-invasive diagnosis of prostate cancer

An international and multidisciplinary team, led by researchers from the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon, has developed an artificial intelligence algorithm that improves the reliability of prostate cancer detection based solely on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans – that is, without resorting to a biopsy. Their findings were published today, 15th of August, in the journal Radiology: Imaging Cancer.
